Flooding
We're having some massive flooding out here due to a huge rainstorm that just came through. We've already hit our average rainfall for November and it's not even half over yet. The flooding of the Snoqualmie River is already at its third highest ever and should crest at #2 on the list. You can barely make out a bridge on the other side of the river. That tiny bridge normally contains the river. Now the whole valley is covered in about 6 feet of water. Tyla and I reguarly ride over that bridge on our motorcycle rides. Probably not this weekend.
This is my favorite quote from the news so far:
"I have an F-150 truck and all the water was coming on top of my hood. And I look over and there's this chum salmon surfacing right next to me," said Delbert Bunn, who unsuccessfully tried to drive down a road. "I look down and there's two to three feet of water on my floorboard."
If you think you can drive through water that is over your hood, you deserve to sleep with the fishes. Of course, all I think when I see this much rain is "I wish it was colder. This would make an incredible start to the ski season." Unfortunately, we tied a record high yesterday (59.) Now snow for me.
